On the survey Rules page you can set the rules for your survey functionality.
When respondent attempts to take survey a second time:
- Do not allow respondent back into survey Once a respondent submits a survey, this respondent is not allowed to come back to this survey and change any responses. A returning respondent will receive a message thanking him for his participation in the survey.
- Respondent may return and modify their response The respondent is allowed to come back to the survey and make changes to responses. The old responses will be deleted and replaced with the new ones.
- Allow multiple responses - only applies to Master URL The number of respondents who can submit their surveys from the same computer is not limited. Please Note that when responding to a survey from the same computer, your respondents must close the browser window after each time they have submitted a survey.
Survey progress indicator This option will only be displayed on your survey's Rules page if there are multiple pages in your survey. Progress indicator appears at the bottom-right of the online survey.
Use these radio buttons to define how progress is reported to respondents as they complete the survey:
- Do not show progress indicator Respondents will not see any indication of their progress through the survey.
- Show page numbers Respondents will see their progress as Page x of y.
- Show progress in bar graph Respondents will see a bar indicating how far along they are in the survey.
- Show progress as percentage Respondents will see the percentage completed at the end of each page
- You can also apply 'Circular progress bar' indicator (advanced feature). For more details consult the Plugins help chapter.
Note: The progress is estimated according to the quantity of questions answered by the respondent.
Back button option This option will only be displayed on your survey's Rules page if there are multiple pages in your survey.
- Do not show back button is the default option. If selected back button will be disabled for your survey.
- Select the Show back button option to allow your respondents to return to previous pages and change their responses.
Go to the next page when a radio button is selected This option should only be used if there is only one question on the page. When this option is selected, respondents will go automatically to the next page by selecting a radio button.
Note: This option is applicable only if 'Pick one or 'Other'' question type is used and the 'Other' option is not activated.
When Survey Has Been Filled Out:
- If you select Show results to respondents, on submitting the survey the respondents will be shown the current Standard Report with a summary of combined results.
- If you select Do not show results to respondents, respondents to this survey will not be shown the Standard Report. This is automatically the default option in your survey.
Display alert messages in You can use this drop-down box to select the language displayed in the pop-up alerts.
Redirect Page You can enter a URL in the 'Redirect Page' text box to redirect the respondent to the specified web page after the survey has been submitted.
Note that you can only use this option if you do not show the Report Summary to the respondents.
Java Script API You can turn on this feature for your survey and use functions that allow accessing survey elements, show or hide entire questions, answer options and columns, access questions text and images
Plugins To apply diferent plugins to your survey click the Plugins button. For more details consult Plugins help character.
If your 360 survey participant also appears as a survey subject you can suppress such subject from the survey by choosing appropriate radio button. Note This option is available for 3600 surveys only.
- Do not suppress subject if it is a participant - thus survey participants will be able to rate themselves as subjects.
- Suppress subject if it is a participant - if survey subject and survey participant is the same person, system will hide subjects from the survey for that particular participant.
Survey Metadata This option is used for internal purposes only. It allows adding metadata to your survey such as survey administrators, etc. Survey metadata is displayed internally when viewing 360 Survey Statistics and Participation Reports for your 360 surveys. Consult these chapters for more details.
Note
- If your survey has not been distributed via our email system and 'Do not allow respondent back into survey' or 'Respondent may return and modify their response' has been set, partially completed responses can be saved and included in the report as "In Progress" responses.
- If your survey has not been distributed via our email system and 'Allow multiple responses - only applies to Master URL' has been set, partially completed responses can also be saved and included in the report as "In Progress" responses.
- If your survey has been distributed via our email system partially completed responses will be saved and included in the report.
- While accessing the survey via Master URL, cookies are used to identify the respondents.
- While accessing the survey via Master URL from the same computer several times in a row, browsers must take 10-sec pauses to accept responses properly.
