Survey Translation

While setting up a survey you can translate all parts of the survey including alert messages, survey name, survey description, 'Thank You Page' note, questions and answers into several languages.

Having your survey available to different people in their native language will assure a better understanding of the survey for the respondent and the results are tabulated into one report for easier result tabulation for the surveyor.

To activate survey translation set up Multilingual feature for your survey first. If everything is set up correctly the Multi-lingual button will appear at the bottom of the 'Edit Questions' page. Click this button and then:

  1. Use the 'Select language for translation' dropdown box to choose the language to which you are going to make the translation of the text.
  2. Use the 'Select language for alert messages' dropdown box to specify the language for the alerts. Usually this are a pop-up messages that notify respondents if mandatory questions are not answered or given answer does not satisfy the expected format.
  3. In the 'Survey Name' text box enter the translation of the survey name.
  4. In the 'Survey Description' text box enter the translation of the survey description.
  5. In the 'Welcome Back page' text boxes enter the translation of the messages your respondents will see when come back to the survey for the second time depending on the survey rules.
  6. In the 'Thank you page text' text box enter the translation of the 'Thank You Page' text.
  7. Provide translations for 'Survey Header' and 'Survey Footer'.
  8. 'HTML Buttons' If you apply HTML buttons to your survey using the Custom Layout page, you can translate survey navigation and submit buttons here.
  9. Provide translations for questions and answers.
  10. Use the 'Custom alert text' text box to enter the translation of the customized text for the alert that pops up if respondent's answer does not match the expected formatting.
  11. 'Survey Invitation Email' option allows translating survey invitation email's subject and body text.
  12. Use 'Survey 1st Reminder' and 'Survey 2nd Reminder' options to translate your survey reminders' texts.

You can translate your survey into any language, however survey alert messages have been translated into the following languages:

Note

  • If you need alerts in other languages we will work together with you to translate them into new language.
  • If any part of the survey translation (question and answer text, etc.) is missing it will be replaced by the text of the default language.
  • It is not recommended to use 'Dropdown box' type of scale within '3D Matrix' question because this elements can not be translated.
  • If using 'Survey Invitation Email', 'Survey 1st Reminder' and 'Survey 2nd Reminder' options make sure HTML formatting is correct.

Click the Save button to save your changes and add translations to your multilingual survey.
Click Back to return to the 'Edit Questions' page.
Click Cancel to go back to the 'Edit Questions' page without saving changes.
