This section explains what the "Multi-line text response --- often used for comments" question type is and why you should use it

What: This question type allows the respondents to comment on something in their own words.

Why: Questions of this type are good for gathering additional information.

To add a 'Multi-Line Text Response' question to your survey you need to select the Insert > New Question option on the 'Surveys > Questions' page, and then:

  1. Use the 'Please select a question type' drop-down box to select "Multi-line text response - often used for comments".
  2. Type your question text in the 'Write your question below' text box.
  3. At this step you can customize text field size for respondents convenience. This does not affect number of characters respondents are allowed to input which is not limited:
    • Columns (width): adjust width of the answer field. Default value is 50;
    • Rows (height): adjust height of the answer field. Default value is 5.
